TV STATIONS

  • WRAL-TV is the No. 1 news station in the Raleigh-Durham area, and an affiliate of CBS. It is owned by Capitol Broadcasting.
  • WTVD is based in Durham, and is generally No. 2 in news ratings. It is an affiliate of ABC.
  • WNCN NBC-17 is generally No. 3 in news ratings, and is an affiliate of NBC. It is the only local news station to program an hour of news between 7 and 8 p.m.
  • WRAZ Fox 50 is owned by Capitol Broadcasting. It is an affiliate of Fox Broadcasting, and runs news programming at 9 p.m. from sister station WRAL.
  • WLFL CW22 is owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group Inc. It broadcasts syndicated programs during the day, and show from The CW at night. Its nightly news broadcast at 10 comes from WTVD.
  • WRDC MyRDC is also owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group Inc. The station runs American-made telenovela-style programs from myNetworkTV, plus movies and syndicated series.
  • News 14 Carolina is owned by Time Warner Cable, and broadcasts news 24 hours a day.
