The Chatham County Schools district serves roughly 7,500 students who live in quickly-growing Chatham County. The district has three high schools, two middle schools and seven primary and elementary schools.

Here are the schools:

High schools: Chatham Central High School, Jordan-Matthews High School, Northwood High School

Middle schools (grades 5-8):Chatham Middle School, Horton Middle School

Elementary schools (grades k-8): Bennett School, Bonlee Elementary School, J.S. Waters School, Moncure School, North Chatham School, Perry W. Harrison School, Silk Hope Elementary School

Alternative school: SAGE Academy
