North Carolina is represented in the U.S. Senate by Elizabeth Dole, a Salisbury Republican, and Richard Burr, a Winston-Salem Republican. Dole was first elected to the Senate in 2002. She is up for re-election in 2008. Burr was first elected to the Senate in 2004. He is up for re-election in 2010.
