The tiny town of Rolesville, incorporated in 1837, is one the fastest growing towns in the Triangle.
In 2000, the town had slightly over 900 residents. Town officials expect that number to grow to 11,500 by 2012. Rolesville’s growth is fueled by former farms turned into high-end subdivisions.
Like neighboring Wake Forest, Rolesville is becoming a bedroom community for workers in Research Triangle Park, Raleigh and the rest of the Triangle.

What are the local attractions?

Located 10 miles from downtown Raleigh, Rolesville provides a range of events that characterize the small towns of the Triangle, such as The Fall Festival in October. Rolesville has two parks and recreation sites, a ballfield and a new community park off the town's main street.

What's the history?

Rolesville was named for merchant William Roles, whose store is used today for the town's Meeting Hall and mayor's office. Roles established the first town school, the Rolesville Academy, in 1832. The town's downtown was damaged by fire in 1913. The first (and only) stoplight was installed in 1967. Here's a link where you can learn more about Rolesville's past.

Who runs the town?

Rolesville is governed by a town board of commisioners and Mayor Nancy Kelly.
Day to day operations of the town are overseen by town manager, Matthew Livingston.

The town's solid waste and part of its electric service are contracted through Wake Forest.

A list of numbers for new residents can be found here.

Who lives here?

Hispanics or Latinos of any race make up 6.9 percent of the population. Bachelors degrees or higher are held by 21 percent of the population over 25.

What about public safety?
